iCreate Publisher

Language Arts / Tech

*NOTE:  Our Leadership class helps students figure out who they are and where they want to go.  Publisher class helps students find a voice.   Genius Project classes are where a lot of what is prepped in the other two classes is put into action.  Our Genius classes help students on their own hero journey.  As part of these classes, students will take on adventures that culminate in final projects and experiences.

Students will gain publishing and tech skills as they learn to create a project from start to finish, using their own style.     Some examples students can choose from are:

Real-World Publishing

In this class, we’ll focus on real-world writing and publish our works!   We’ll read great examples and then create our own great works.  Then we’ll learn how to publish the works, whether it be a hard copy of a book, a stop-motion video, a graphic video, a podcast, blog post, newspaper, and more!

Some projects we have done in the past include stop animation films, dramatic readings/audio editing, creating and publishing 16 page books, creating a yearbook, making comics and more.

Some of the projects are done on an  individual basis, some are group projects done according to age and some projects are done with mixed age groups.

Team Yearbook

Create this year's yearbook for iCreate!  There are lots of ways to help with this including

Language Arts Game Learning

Participate in whatever games are provided by the teacher each week.  Some discussion of what was learned may take place.  Game suggestions are welcome.

Combination

This is just what it sounds like. Say you wanted to be on team yearbook, but there wasn't much to do with your job one week.  In that case, you can choose to join the game class or the publishing class instead that week.

*NOTE!   Approximately once a month, this class may be late in starting due to a special Genius Mentor Speaker during the class period before.
