The Scribbler's Den

Language Arts / Writing

Semester 1: Get yourself ready for college-level writing through this engaging class! This class will cover the basics, starting with choosing a topic, organizing thoughts, and outlining, and then moving to writing and editing. We will also go over the most common types of essays that are assigned in college. Be prepared to do some writing both in and out of class!

You will also get the opportunity to see that sentence diagramming can actually be fun!  We'll play around with this for just a few minutes at the beginning of class.

TEACHER BIO
Karina Worlton

Karina has been an avid reader for as long as she can remember, so majoring (and minoring!) in English at BYU was the obvious option. After graduating, Karina became a stay-at-home mom, raising 5 sons. She homeschooled them up to fifth grade, while working off and on as a writer for the Midvalley Eagle, content editor for a scrapbooking website, proofreader for a monthly scrapbook kit newsletter, paper grader for a high school English teacher, and more. She was an early-morning seminary teacher in Illinois for five years, and loves working with youth.
